Moment a gang of robbers attack a 16-year-old girl in Manhattan who desperately clings onto her purse as they kick her and drag her round the sidewalk
- The robbery took place around 9pm on January 22 on 43rd Street
- The gang of three suspects attacked two teens; a 16-year-old girl and boy, also 16
- Surveillance footage shows them dragging and kicking the girl to try and force her to let go of her purse
- Eventually, the robbery suspects, who remain at-large, stole only a cell phone from the boy
- Robberies are down by 27.4 percent in New York City from a year ago
Police are on the hunt for gang of three robbery suspects who brutally attacked two teenagers.
Surveillance video from the robbery on West 43rd Street, Manhattan, around 9pm on Friday, January 22, shows a 16-year-old girl on the ground, clinging onto her purse, as a suspect in a green winter coat and white hoodie tries to wrest it away from her.
Another suspect, wearing a brown coat, comes over to kick the victim while they’re on the ground before the gang turn around and bolt from the scene.
According to the NYPD, the suspects in the video are wanted for robbery.
While only the teenage girl is clearly shown in the footage, police they also attacked a 16-year-old boy.

The footage shows at least one of the suspects trying to steal from one 16-year-old victim
They were reportedly approached by the suspects, who wanted to sell marijuana to the teenagers.
It’s unclear if the deal was made, but the suspects then tried to forcibly take the female victim’s bag by shoving her to the ground and kicking her.
Once they failed to snatch the bag, they took the boy’s phone from his jacket pocket before dashing down 43rd Street towards 9th Avenue.
At one point, another person joins the attack and levels a swift kick against the victim
While only one victim is clearly visible in the footage, there were two victims, both 16
The attack took place on West 43rd Street on January 22 around 9pm in the evening
As of now, the suspects remain at-large and unidentified.
Samaritan Village, a residential facility that provides mental health and addiction treatment services to veterans, is located at 327 West 43rd Street, where the robbery took place.
After exactly 1,000 robberies were reported during the first 24 days of 2020 in New York City, just 726 robberies have been reported in the same span in 2021, a 27.4 percent decline.
Of the major crime statistics, only grand larceny has seen a steeper fall so far in 2021, with a 32.3 percent drop in reported cases.
