  • Ex-NFL wide receiver Travis Rudolph has been arrested in Palm Beach County (Florida) on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder

Former NFL wide receiver Travis Rudolph has been arrested in Palm Beach County (Florida) on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

The 25-year-old was arrested Wednesday morning following a double shooting in the West Palm Beach suburb of Lake Park, according to police.

One male victim has been reported dead and another was transported to the hospital, according to police. 

Rudolph is currently being held without bond at Palm Beach County Jail.

A star receiver at West Palm Beach's Cardinal Newman High School, Rudolph went on to have an impressive career at Florida State, earning second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in 2016. He went undrafted in 2017, but eventually signed on with the New York Giants and ultimately recorded eight catches for 101 yards

He went undrafted in 2017, but eventually signed on with the New York Giants and ultimately recorded eight catches for 101 yards.

Rudolph was ultimately waived and signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2018 before tearing his ACL.

Since then, he has signed briefly with the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Bombers, but has otherwise been out of professional football.

Rudolph’s father Darryl was shot and killed in West Palm Beach while working as a maintenance worker at a strip club when a gun was mistakenly discharged. The bullet went through a wall and into Darryl’s neck, according to WPTV.
