A heavily-pregnant 31-year-old was shot dead in front of her two children after her baby shower as she tried to separate her ex and her new boyfriend – the father of her unborn baby.

Shanice Young was bringing gifts from her shower into her building lobby at 300 West 128 Street around 1.16am.

‘[The gunman] came in chasing the boyfriend,’ Jose Morales, the super of Young’s building, told the Daily News. ‘They ran through here and out the other side and they ran downstairs.’

The deceased mother’s family told PIX 11 that her ex-boyfriend had been stalking her, and was lying in wait in front of her apartment.

As of Monday evening, no arrests have been made, the NYPD told MailOnline.

‘I helped her put her gifts in the car and I said, “I’ll see you tomorrow,”‘ her father Thurman Young, 57, told the News.

‘She was going to have her baby in five days. She said “This baby is coming in five days, Daddy, get ready.” I said “I’ll be ready.”‘

'Come on Fam, we gotta do better than this,' wrote Young's friend, Shari Logan, on Facebook. '#ShaniceYoung of Harlem was pregnant and killed by her ex after the baby shower.' 'This was completely #senseless and #unnecessary'

'If last night I knew was the last was the last time I get to see you I would have stayed you would have been alive,' wrote Shanice's sister, Metania, on Facebook. 'I can't believe I let him do this to you'

‘This right here was a senseless shooting,’ said Harlem Hospital chaplain Robert Rice to PIX. ‘I’m very upset and I’m angry. I shouldn’t be angry as a clergy, but this one here has touched my heart.’
