Caught with his pants down! Moment brave shopkeeper tackles thug wielding a metal bar – and yanks down his trousers – as he tries to rob her post office

A brave shopkeeper was caught on camera as she tackled a thug wielding a metal bar as he tried to rob a post office.
CCTV footage shows thief William Youdale, 37, entering Danesholme Post Office in Corby, Northamptonshire, brandishing a metal dumbbell bar as a weapon.
He then tries to jump over the counter but the quick-thinking shop owner immediately jumps into action.
She presses the panic button and, despite being half Youdale’s size, she grabs both of his arms and the pair begin to grapple.
In the ensuing scuffle she grabs hold of his trousers and he ends up flashing his bare buttocks at the CCTV camera as he tries to pull free.

He then tries to jump over the counter but the quick-thinking shop owner immediately jumps into action and presses the panic button to alert the police about the situation
Shop worker David Smith, 19, leaps to defend the female shop owner but Youdale strikes him on the shoulder with the metal bar.
The shop owner then punches him until he accidentally drops the weapon.
A third shopworker told police she ‘genuinely feared for her life’ and still has flashbacks from the incident on May 24 this year.
While Youdale was being fought off by the shop workers his accomplice Sharon Gilchrist, 38, swiped an armful of cigarettes from behind the counter.
Youdale was later caught and sentenced to eight years in prison, with a further four to be spent on licence

And an hour and a half later at about 9.35pm the pair went to the house of a man in Corby where Youdale smashed him on the head with a metal object before pinning his mother against a wall and threatening to burn down her home.
Youdale admitted one count of attempted robbery, one count of GBH and another of common assault at Northampton Crown Court on September 3, according to the Northamptonshire Telegraph.
Gilchrist admitted one theft offence.
The judge Mr Michael Auty QC, said Youdale was ‘lucky’ it was not murder and branded Youdale as ‘dangerous’ in his sentencing comments.
Youdale was sentenced to eight years in prison, with a further four to be spent on licence.
Gilchrist was sentenced to six months in prison.
Northamptonshire Police have been contacted for comment.
