Felton’s frightening fall came while he was representing Europe in a six-a-side celebrity golf tournament at the Ryder Cup – which has become a popular preamble for the true tournament, where professional golfers duke it out every two years, either in the US or UK.
Onlookers gave the actor a warm round of applause when he was carted off the course Thursday to receive further treatment – the day after his 34th birthday.
Following the incident, the PGA of America disclosed that Felton had experienced a ‘medical incident’ and was sent to a ‘local hospital for treatment.’
Prior to his sudden collapse, the star had proven to be a fan-favorite and a natural on the green, opening the tournament with an excellent first drive.
