Boy, 15, fights for life in hospital after being stabbed in middle of the afternoon

- He is in a life-threatening condition and police are appealing for information
A teenage boy is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight in the middle of the afternoon near east London.
The 15-year-old was attacked in Marlborough Gardens, Upminster, at 3.25pm yesterday.
Police rushed to the scene and medics treated him on the road before taking him to hospital in a helicopter. He is in a life-threatening condition, they said.
Officers have launched an appeal for anyone with information on the attack and have not yet made any arrests.

London Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called at approximately 3.25pm on Friday, September 24, to reports of a male stabbed in Marlborough Gardens, Upminster.
‘Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 15-year-old boy suffering stab injuries. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
‘His condition is being treated as life-threatening.
‘Detectives from the Met’s East Area CID are investigating. There has been no arrest at this early stage and enquiries into the circumstances continue.
‘Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote 4545/24Sep.’

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: ‘We treated a person at the scene, and they were taken to a major trauma centre by London’s Air Ambulance.’
