Legendary music agent Steve Strange, who worked with a list of top acts such as Coldplay, Eminem, Snow Patrol and the Charlatans, has died aged 53.
Strange’s death was announced on Instagram by the agency he co-founded, prompting dozens of tributes from across the music industry.
According to the message: ‘X-Ray Touring are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Strange, one of the founding partners of the agency, has passed away after a short illness.

Strange, who was born in Carrickfergus, northern Ireland, was renowned for the eclectic mix of artists from across the music industry.
The statement added: ‘Steve had the best ears in the agency business, signing and developing the careers of countless world class artists from small club venues to vast international multi-stadium tours.’
