Police are investigating the mysterious circumstances in which a mother-of-four was tragically found dead by her young son under a car in the driveway of a home in Adelaide. 

The 45-year-old single mother was leaving for work from the home in Pennington, in Adelaide’s north-west suburbs, when something went terribly wrong shortly after 7.30am on Thursday morning.

The woman’s young son found his mother underneath the car and alerted emergency services, who were unable to revive her at the Addison Road address. 

SA Police tapped off the scene around the home as they launched an investigation into the tragedy.

They announced just before 1pm on Thursday detectives had determined the death was non-suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner. 

Friends and family were seen hugging and comforting each other as they gathered at the scene shortly after the tragic incident. 

‘The son, I think, went out and saw his mum on the ground,’ an unidentified family member told 7 News Adelaide.

‘She’s a very caring person, and a caring mum. She takes care of her kids.’

‘We’re all going to miss her.’

‘We’re very worried about her children now and so very sorry for them,’ another person on the scene added.
