The male companion of an Instagram model who calls herself ‘Torpedo Trish’ shocked witnesses after he emerged from their flipped car – casually smoking a cigarette.

Patricia Hadjia, 27, admitted to high range drink driving through an email to Waverley Local Court on Wednesday after she was arrested in October last year.

She blew a blood-alcohol level of 0.181 after crashing her car on Duncan Street in Maroubra, according to her charge sheet, with locals saying they heard a loud bang before she and her male friend climbed out of the car. 

‘The standout moment for me was when the guy was still in there and he had his head out the window and he put a cigarette in his mouth,’ one of the neighbours said.

The Instagram influencer, who works as a consultant for people looking to increase their social media follow count, had posted an image with a champagne glass in her hand to her 39,000 fans moments before the crash.

Neighbours walked outside to find the pair climbing out of the car, which they described as like a UFO because ‘the tail lights were up where they shouldn’t be normally’.

Her heavily-tattooed male companion, 29, then light up a cigarette on the side of the road, after being pictured sitting on top of the flipped vehicle.

Torpedo Trish was arrested, charged with high-range drink driving and had her licence suspended. 

She opened up to Daily Mail Australia about the alleged incident at the time, saying she feels ’embarrassed’ and ‘deeply regretful’ about what happened. 

Ms Hadjia’s solicitor Eidan Havas said she ‘would like to thank all first responders for attending the scene and doing such a wonderful job.’

Witnesses said they were watching TV when they a thud, and rushed outside to find Ms Hadjia and her 29-year-old passenger pulling themselves from the wreckage.

‘I came out and looked up the road and it was a really strange looking sight, it looked a bit like a UFO had landed because the tail lights were up where they shouldn’t be normally,’ a neighbour told the Daily Telegraph.

‘I got up the road and I could see it was a car on its side, the headlights were on and I could see arms inside writhing over each other … I ran back to my partner and she said ‘what’s going on?’, I told her and she called Triple-0 immediately.’

Another woman said she heard a ‘massive boom’ and joined a crowd of people who gathered to see what was going on.

She said a ‘stand out moment’ was when a passenger poked his head out the window and put a cigarette in his mouth.

Ms Hadjia’s sister is Joelle Hadjia, who shot to fame after appearing on the X-Factor.

She will be sentenced in Waverley Local Court on January 12.
