- Opals struggled without Cambage on court, bombing out in the quarter-finals
Renegade Australian basketball star Liz Cambage has been sensationally axed from the Opals World Cup squad, just days after she joined the porn website, OnlyFans.
On Monday, Basketball Australia will name a preliminary 24-player squad for the FIBA World Cup, to be played in Sydney from September next year
But despite being the Opals’ key X-Factor athlete, the towering star is tipped to be the one big name missing from the teamlist.
The glaring omission comes in the wake of her signing up to join the OnlyFans adult entertainment platform, which is mainly used for X-rated snaps and videos of social media influencers and porn stars.
And it follows the 30-year-old’s decision to skip the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year, citing mental health concerns.

Liz Cambage is widely regarded as Australia’s best female basketballer – but after missing the Olympics due to mental health concerns, her teammates are said to be ‘off’ her (pictured, playing for the Las Vegas Aces)
Last month, Cambage was formally reprimanded following her ‘aggressive’ on court antics in a pre-Olympic warm-up game against Nigeria in Las Vegas back in July.
While she wasn’t fined or suspended for any matches, the panel found the centre guilty of one charge of prohibitive conduct.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Cambage is no longer a popular and valued member of the Opals squad, who remain dismayed at her behaviour in the lead up to the Olympics.
Her absence in Tokyo proved crucial, with Sandy Brondello’s team sent packing in the quarter-finals.
Many felt Australia would have been a genuine medal chance if Cambage had been on court with the team.
Back in April, Opals star Liz Cambage said that she was interested in joining the adult entertainment site OnlyFans

Last month Cambage, who is now frequently pictured in lingerie and bikinis, said she was ‘scared’ to make the move to OnlyFans, but was tempted by the money she could make.
‘Every other girl is on OnlyFans at the moment, all the influencers, so I thought just do it,’ she said.
‘I was so scared to actually do it. But I had my friends and family push me and say don’t worry what anyone says – people are either going to love you or hate you regardless.’
Cambage previously told her social media followers in April that she was considering joining the site.

‘The amount of money I could be making off OnlyFans is crazy, what am I doing sitting here?’ she said.
In September, Cambage tested positive to Covid-19 and went into isolation but experienced only minor symptoms.
