VP Harris’ new hire Jamal Simmons donated to Rand Paul campaign, FEC data shows


More information emerged Saturday about Jamal Simmons, who was recently hired as communications director for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Simmons made a donation to a presidential candidate in June 2015, sending a $250 contribution to the campaign of Republican U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Paul, from Kentucky, was first elected to the Senate in 2010. He launched his presidential campaign in 2015 but dropped out of the race after a disappointing finish…
