Has omicron peaked? COVID cases flatten in New York, New Jersey, Maryland and LA


Covid cases in the U.S. are rising in much of the nation, but data from northeastern states experiencing the worst surges in the country only weeks ago are showing signs that the Omicron-fueled surge has peaked. The country reached a record case average of 786,416 cases every day on Wednesday, but the meteoritic rise in case numbers is slowing – and has not translated to a similar increase in deaths.
