  • Verushan Manoharan, 31, is accused of killing Sakunthala Francis
  • Paramedics rushed to flat in Thornton Heath, south London , and discovered the pensioner, then called police when she was pronounced dead at the scene
  • Manoharan was arrested later that evening in nearby Croydon, south London
