Melbourne slides down global liveability rankings


The city of Melbourne has tumbled down the list of the world’s most liveable cities, falling to 10th spot.

Researchers from the Economist Intelligence Unit assess cities based on their stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure and update the Global Liveability Index each year.

The Austrian capital Vienna has taken out the top spot, with Adelaide ranked the next best Australian city in 30th.
