PM ‘taken aback’ by Ukraine visit

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was “very taken aback by some of the things he saw” during his visit to Ukraine, according to Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations’ Co-Chair Stefan Romaniw.

“We’re very grateful for his visit … he has announced some new initiatives in terms of supporting Ukraine,” he told Sky News Australia.

“I think it’s a great opportunity now for us to move forward.”

Mr Romaniw said there was an announcement made about Ukraine “dropping tariffs on goods from the Ukraine for the next 12 months”.
