Flood levels remain high in Hawkesbury-Nepean

NSW SES Chief Superintendent Ashley Sullivan says flood levels in the Hawkesbury-Nepean system remain high as large levels of water continue to flow through.

“It’s going to be days and into the weekend and possibly next week before we start to see river levels drop to a safe level in those areas,” he told Sky News Australia.

Mr Sullivan said further resources were being deployed into the Hunter and Central Coast region as more rain is forecast to fall.

“We do urge residents – particularly in the Hunter region – to be very cautious in the coming days.”
