‘People didn’t get the memo’: Albanese defends international travel

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says some people “didn’t get the memo” about the “new politics” as he defended his international travel.

He said the new politics is about “getting things done” and achieving outcomes in the interest of the Australian public.

“I was fulfilling a responsibility that I believe I had of travelling to Ukraine,” Mr Albanese said.

“To compare that with a holiday – I just find beyond contempt, frankly.”
