UK premier grilled by parliamentary committee amid resignations


LONDON

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was grilled by MPs in a parliamentary hearing on Wednesday as his government continues to be rocked by resignations in protest at his continued leadership.

At the hearing, Conservative MP Sir Bob Neil asked Johnson: “How important is the truth to you, prime minister?”

“Very important, Bob,” Johnson replied.

Labour MP Darren Jones asked Johnson: “On a very human level, surely you must know it’s in the country’s interests…
