ACT Police charge 63-year-old New South Wales man over alleged shooting at Canberra Airport

Police have arrested and charged a 63-year-old man from New South Wales over an alleged shooting at Canberra Airport on Sunday afternoon.

The suspected shooter is in police custody with the man believed to have fired five shots in the check-in area of the airport but no one was injured in the incident.

The 63-year-old has been charged with discharging a firearm at a building, unlawful possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm near a person causing alarm and he is expected to appear in Canberra Magistrates Court on Monday, where bail will be opposed.
