Scott Morrison secretly swore himself in as Finance Minister without Mathias Cormann’s knowledge in ‘serious breach’ of Westminster system


Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is seeking a briefing from his officials in the department of prime minister and cabinet this afternoon in Canberra on the legality of Scott Morrison’s moves to swear himself secretly in as Health Minister, Finance Minister and Resources Minister during his time in office.

Sky News understands the PM considers Mr Morrison’s actions a serious breach of the Westminster system of government.

Supporters of Mr Morrison claim the same officials, as well as former Attorney-General Christian Porter, gave him the recommendation that he could swear himself in…
