Taiwan visit shows US politicians ‘won’t be told what to do by Beijing’


The Australian’s Will Glasgow says the congressional delegation in Taiwan on Monday shows US politicians “won’t be told what to do by Beijing”.

Mr Glasgow told Sky News Australia the visit from US politicians to meet with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen, led by Democratic Senator Ed Markey, shows the “inability Beijing has to stop things happening”.

“No one knew about it almost until the plane touched down on Songshan Airport tarmac,” he said.
