Hawkesbury Councillor Sarah McMahon says she will “continue to fight” to get the Warragamba Dam wall raised by 14 metres.
“Our community in the Hawkesbury deserves it and the flood report that was just released shows that,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
Ms McMahon said the report showed the flood cost nearly $4 billion in government support and $2.7 billion in infrastructure damage to the Hawkesbury-Nepean region west of Sydney.
“The cost so far for the wall, they’re estimating $2 billion,” she said.
“It just makes total economic sense to get on with it.”
