Wyoming voters just ‘didn’t like Liz Cheney’

There are two kinds of people in the world – people who don’t like Liz Cheney and people “who haven’t met her yet”, former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says.

Outgoing congresswoman Liz Cheney was resoundingly defeated by attorney Harriet Hageman in the Republican primary for Wyoming’s sole congressional seat.

Mr Mulvaney said her loss was not just her “comeuppance” but the voters of Wyoming exercising their democratic right to vote out someone they “didn’t like”.
