Several flood warnings in place across NSW as slow-moving low pressure system brings heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms


Just over a week after the Bureau of Meteorology declared a third La Nina was underway, residents in New South Wales have been hit with another round of severe thunderstorms and widespread flooding.

Large areas and catchments in western and northern NSW are experiencing heavy rainfall and flooding which is expected to continue into the weekend.

Minister for Flood Recovery, Emergency Services and Resilience Steph Cooke on Thursday said the state was facing challenges on “multiple fronts” with prolonged flooding affecting the state.
