Not getting enough sleep raises risk of heart disease, Alzheimer’s and even damages immune system, study finds

  • Researchers in New York followed 14 adults who got eight hours of sleep a night
  • They asked them to cut this by an hour-and-a-half for six weeks in the study
  • At the end, they found that these adults had more inflammation than beforehand
  • Scientists warned this suggested they were at a higher risk of suffering heart disease, Alzheimer’s and even damage to the immune system
