Concerns grow as police search for a missing child in western NSW floodwater after heavy rainfall overnight


A five-year-old child is reportedly missing in floodwaters in western New South Wales after being washed away from a car on Friday night.

Just before 8pm, emergency services were called to McGrane Way at Tullamore, north-west of Parkes, where two vehicles were found trapped in heavy floodwaters.

NSW Police said local SES and Rural Fire Services managed to rescue four people who were found clinging to trees to avoid dangerous currents.

However, a five-year-old child from one of the vehicles has not yet been “accounted for”.
