Hurricane Ian’s Category 4 storm weakens into a Tropical Storm as more than two million are still left without power


Hurricane Ian has weakened to a Category 1 storm as more than 2.5 million residents remain without power.

The National Hurricane Centre (NHC) confirmed warnings along the east and west coast of the Florida peninsula have been changed to Tropical Storm Warnings.

In an updated advisory issued at 5am on Thursday morning (local time), the NHC said it is still expected to produce strong winds, heavy rains and storm surge across portions of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.
