More than a million Florida residents left without power after Hurricane Ian


A powerful hurricane has made landfall on Florida’s west coast, leaving a trail of destruction with more than a million residents left without power.

The flooding has caused houses to be ripped from their foundations and left cars floating down the streets.

Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis said the storm surge has “likely peaked and will likely be less in the coming hours”.
