Vladimir Putin’s ‘crazy’ sham referenda in eastern Ukraine and ongoing mobilisation shows Russian President is ‘panicking’


Ukrainian MP Haylna Yanchenko has said Vladimir Putin’s referenda in eastern Ukraine show that he is in a “desperate situation” as the Russian President continues his mobilisation.

Russia is set to annex four occupied regions after more than 90 per cent of voters in each of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions supported annexation in ballots which have been widely discredited.

The regions are expected to be incorporated by Moscow after Putin ordered conscription of an estimated 300,000 reservists and veterans.
