‘We should get it right’: NACC bill has got a ‘long way to go’


Independent ACT Senator David Pocock says he thinks there’s a “long way to go” on the national anti-corruption commission bill.

Mr Pocock disagreed that the bill needed the clause about “exceptional circumstances” for hearings to be public.

“This is already only looking at serious or systemic corruption, that’s already quite a high bar,” Mr Pocock told Sky News Australia.

He said he’s got “real concerns” around having “such a high bar” for public hearings.

“An integrity commission is something that everyone wants, we’ve got an opportunity to get this right,”…
