Alec Baldwin reaches settlement with family of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins after fatal shooting on set

Alec Baldwin has reached a settlement with the family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was shot dead by the actor on a film set last year. 

Ms Hutchins was killed when Baldwin discharged a live round from a prop gun during a rehearsal for the film Rust last October.  

The lawsuit, filed by Hutchins’ family in February, claimed the film’s producers and other key members of the crew “failed to perform industry standard safety checks and follow basic gun safety rules”.
