Risk of flash flooding heightened due to wet ground


NSW Emergency Services Minister Stephanie Cooke says the risk of flash flooding in New South Wales is high due to the saturated landscape from previous floods.

“So any runoff has to find somewhere to go and there’s not a lot of places at the moment,” she told Sky News Australia.

“We’ve got rivers rising, and in some cases rising quite quickly.

“We’re seeing widespread rain continue right across New South Wales off the back of a couple of days of wet weather now.”
