A former police officer charged with murdering a missing Warrnambool father will require specialist medical care in custody due to an array of health issues.

Steven Johnson, 70, faced Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning, the day after his co-accused, 59-year-old Glenn Ernest Fenwick, also fronted court charged with a single count of murder.
