Josh Frydenberg calls out Scott Morrison’s ‘extreme overreach’ when he secretly took on five ministerial portfolios during COVID-19 pandemic

Scott Morrison told his close friend and then-treasurer Josh Frydenberg he would take on his ministerial portfolio again if he had the time, a new book has revealed.

The former prime minister secretly appointed himself into five ministerial positions – treasury, health, finance, home affairs and industry, science, energy and resources – from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 to May 2021.

Mr Morrison swore himself into the portfolios with the assistance of Governor-General David Hurley and then-attorney general Christian Porter.
