US markets close to ‘observe the Thanksgiving holiday’


CommSec’s Tom Piotrowski says markets have becalmed due to US markets being closed to observe the Thanksgiving holiday.

“The general trend that we’ve seen for the last couple of days where stocks have been concerned is that they’ve been gravitating to higher levels, and we have seen long-term interest rates overall globally moderate as well,” he told Sky News Australia.

“Part of the reason for that latter behaviour is the comments that we’ve seen from central banks through the minutes of their last policy-setting meeting.”
