The helicopter appeared to be linked to a scenic flight company, The Helicopter Group (Aust). The company confirmed it was aware of an incident but could not comment further when first contacted.
The company operates out of Moorabbin Airport and runs helicopter winery tours, charter flights, flight training, aerial photography, and crane services in and around Melbourne, according to its website.
Ambulance Victoria said its paramedics were called at about 1.05pm.
“A man, who is in a stable condition, is being assessed by paramedics for lower body injuries,” it said.
