Uber Australia and New Zealand General Manager of Rides Dominic Taylor says the ridesharing company is launching a new car sharing platform, Uber Carshare, to “operate Australia more efficiently with less cars”.
Uber acquired Australian start-up Car Next Door earlier this year and today launched their rebrand of the platform.
“Car sharing will be the great next disruptor of Australian transport,” he told Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd.
Mr Taylor said the new initiative will bring together car owners with people who require access to a vehicle.
