Home Affairs and Cybersecurity Minister Clare O’Neil says there is a cyberthreat “facing our country which is huge and relentless”.
Ms O’Neil says the threat is “going to grow over time, not diminish”.
“So, we need to do some very urgent things quickly which the Albanese government has already begun to undertake,” Ms O’Neil told Sky News Australia.
“But we’ve got a much bigger task here to really shift how Australian citizens, businesses engage with the internet and that is going to take some time.”
