Netflix’s new live-action adaptation of One Piece is out now, and to the great surprise of many it’s actually…pretty great? Live-action remakes of anime series don’t have a great track record — just see Netflix’s speedy cancelation of Cowboy Bebop for one of the most recent examples — but One Piece has managed to capture the charm of the manga by Eiichiro Oda while bringing it to life in a whole new medium.
