- An Atlanta judge rejected a motion for separate trials for two co-defendants of Donald Trump, in a case where they are accused with the former president and 16 others of a criminal conspiracy in trying to reverse Trump’s loss in the 2020 election in Georgia.
- Judge Scott McAfee said that as of now, he plans to start trial for Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell on Oct. 23. Both defendants, who had requested speedy trials in their cases, are attorneys.
- McAfee left open the door — slightly — to grant a request by prosecutors to hold a joint trial for Trump and 18 co-defendants in the case.
