Amid Lee, President Joe Biden approves Massachusetts emergency declaration

President Joe Biden approved an emergency declaration in Massachusetts on Saturday as Post-Tropical Cyclone Lee, which was downgraded from a hurricane, brings stormy conditions to eastern parts of the state as it moves north toward Canada.

“Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. declared that an emergency exists in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ordered Federal assistance to supplement Commonwealth, tribal, and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Lee from September 15 to September 17, 2023,” a statement from the White House reads.
