A person has reportedly been airlifted to hospital after a bungalow blew up in a suspected fuel explosion. 

A dozen households in Ollersett Avenue, in New Mills, Derbyshire, have been evacuated following the blast on the £250,000 property. 

Locals within the quiet village had been rocked by the ‘loud bang’ shortly after 8am, which leveled a bungalow earlier than engulfing it in flames.

Firefighters from throughout Derbyshire rushed to the scene, with police sealing off the street and 12 properties evacuated. The reason for the blast continues to be being investigated.

‘Those that have been evacuated from their properties are requested to attend New Mills Leisure Centre to register that they’ve been evacuated.

‘Different native residents are requested to maintain their home windows and doorways closed whereas emergency companies cope with the incident.’

An air ambulance attended the scene, the hearth service added. Nevertheless, the organisation has not commented on whether or not anybody was injured within the blast.
