Moments from Rosalynn Carter’s lifetime of ‘journey’ as First Woman


Rosalynn Carter, former First Woman and spouse of US ex-President Jimmy Carter, has died on the age of 96.

Mrs Carter grew to become First Woman in 1977, and along with her husband went on to be the longest-married first couple, celebrating their 77th marriage ceremony anniversary in July.

Her husband, who’s 99, entered hospice care in February.

Mrs Carter described life along with her husband as “an journey”. The BBC seems to be again at her time as First Woman.
