An aged Israeli lady that was held hostage within the Gaza Strip was launched by Hamas on Friday, a number of days after it was claimed that she had died in captivity.
Hanna Katzir, 77, was launched together with twelve different Israelis that had been taken into Gaza following the October 7 assaults on Israeli communities near the Hamas-run Palestinian territory.
Her launch comes following claims made by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), one other militant outfit primarily based in Gaza, that she had died.
The Instances of Israel, citing her household, confirmed that she was amongst these handed over to the Purple Cross as a part of an change between Hamas and Israel. The 13 Israelis had been launched together with a Filipino and ten Thai hostages.

Ms Katzir, a mom of three and grandmother of six, was taken hostage alongside along with her son and dozens of their neighbours from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7.

Ms Katzir’s son, Elad, stays in captivity. There was no details about him since he was taken.
There was a video launched by the PIJ of Ms Katzir on November 9 – two weeks earlier than the false announcement of her loss of life – during which she was heard saying: ‘I’m in a spot that isn’t mine. I miss residence, my kids, my husband Rami, and the entire, expensive, beloved household.’
