A 77-year-old man was shot inside a regulation agency constructing in Sydney’s metropolis centre on Wednesday afternoon. 

The emergency companies had been referred to as to the constructing on Castlereagh Road within the CBD, at about 12.50pm.

Officers from Sydney Metropolis Police Space Command attended and located a person affected by a gunshot wound.

The person was handled by NSW Ambulance paramedics and first responders and was ttaken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

A criminal offense scene has been established and the general public are suggested to keep away from the world to permit emergency companies entry.

‘A person has been arrested and there’s no additional ongoing risk to the group,’ a police spokesman informed Every day Mail Australia. 

The constructing at 219-223 Castlereagh St accommodates a number of regulation companies, together with O’Brien Prison and Civil Solicitors and Princeton Legal professionals. 

The Greek Consulate can be situated within the constructing.

Workers on the shut by NSW Parliament have been informed to not go exterior.

Sydney college college students Arabella Fennessy and Peniana Blair, each 17, witnessed the capturing’s aftermath.

‘We had been simply getting the bus from Elizabeth Road and we noticed all these police automobiles and ambulances racing down into this road,’ Ms Fennessy mentioned.

‘We waited with a crowd for perhaps quarter-hour after which a person was introduced out on a stretcher. He got here out of the constructing with the Greek flag (on it).’

Ms Blair added: ‘He seemed like he was in essential situation. He was mendacity on the stretcher together with his eyes closed.’

Workmates Cassie Economides and Rochelle Connell had simply left the constructing once they witnessed a person wearing a darkish prime being chased by police.

‘We had been simply leaving for lunch round 12.50pm after we noticed this man being chased by perhaps a dozen cops,’ Ms Economides mentioned.

‘He ran proper previous us into the constructing. We did not see if he was carrying a gun or something, however police ran out of their automobiles and chased him contained in the constructing.’

The workmates didn’t hear a gun go off and had been unaware a person had been shot.

‘It was so scary. We had been identical to “what’s going on”,’ Ms Connell added.
