Dutch forces deployed to Caribbean territory hit by main oil spill


Armed forces from the Netherlands have been deployed to the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire to clear seashores of oil coming from an offshore spill blamed on an overturned barge tons of of miles away.

The army cleaned up a number of seashores on the island that have been reopened to the general public on Friday.

“The state of affairs appears to be beneath management,” appearing Lt. Gov. Reynolds Oleana mentioned Thursday. “It stays to be seen what’s going to occur within the coming days.”

Environmental officers mentioned they’ll begin assessing the harm as soon as the polluted areas have been cleaned.
