A senior minister in Anthony Albanese’s authorities has been slammed for saying the US just isn’t Australia’s most trusted safety associate.

Mr Birmingham, who’s the Opposition overseas affairs spokesman, identified that Mr Albanese had described the US as Australia’s ‘closest ally’ and ‘principal strategic associate’.
