A mysterious plaque has appeared on a Bristol bench paying tribute to a ‘Husband, Father, Adulterer’.

It seems to be a message to a departed liked one because it begins ‘For My Love’.

The inscription was noticed on a bench in Royal York Crescent within the Clifton space of the town this morning.

The complete message reads: ‘For My Love. 06.09.69 – 25.12.23. Husband, Father, Adulterer. Sure, Roger, I knew.’

It isn’t identified who Roger was or who commissioned the plaque in his honour.

The 63-year-old lady who noticed the plaque mentioned: ‘I’ve to say I discovered it very humorous once I noticed it.

‘Hell hath no fury like a lady scorned.’

Commemorative plaques are sometimes hooked up to benches in reminiscence of misplaced family members – and that is truly the second plaque fastened to this similar seat.

In response to the plaque, Roger died on Christmas Day final yr on the age of 54.
