DENVER — A Southwest Airways jet returned to Denver Sunday morning after the engine cowl fell off and struck the wing flap throughout takeoff, in keeping with the Federal Aviation Administration.
The Boeing 737 landed safely, and the passengers headed to Houston have been being put onto one other plane, Southwest Airways mentioned in an announcement.
“We apologize for the inconvenience of their delay, however place our highest precedence on final security for our clients and staff. Our upkeep groups are reviewing the plane,” the assertion reads.
It was the second mishap in every week for the airline, with a flight from Texas canceled Thursday after a report of an engine hearth. The Lubbock, Texas, hearth division confirmed on-line a hearth in one of many two engines that wanted extinguishing.

Each planes have been Boeing 737-800s, an older mannequin than the 737 Max.
