It’s thought there was an ‘incident’ outdoors the house earlier than it grew to become engulfed in flames and officers are trying to find any doorbell or dashcam footage within the space.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb, main the investigation for the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, mentioned: ‘We imagine that there might have been an incident outdoors the tackle in Forest Highway earlier than the hearth began and I’m very eager to listen to from anybody who witnessed one thing or maybe has doorbell or dashcam footage.

‘We’re working onerous to determine the 2 individuals who sadly died within the hearth, not least in order that their households and family members may be notified.’

Police had been referred to as at 10.42pm on Sunday, April 21 to a report of a hearth at a residential tackle in Forest Highway.

Officers attended alongside colleagues from the London Fireplace Brigade.

Donna Wiggins, who has lived in Walthamstow for 26 years, mentioned yesterday she was shut pals with the previous residents of the home, who handed away a number of years in the past.

The 46-year-old claims that the home had been inherited by her buddy’s son who was later booted out of the property by squatters.

She mentioned: ‘I used to know the individuals who lived there. The mom was once my neighbour.

‘I’m not certain who the individuals who have handed away are. One other particular person I do know mentioned the son had been kicked out by squatters.

‘However I have never spoken to him since his mum’s funeral.

‘There was all the time unsavoury characters coming out and in of that home.’
